William Byrd Singers: Singet!

The Byrds open their season with a spectacular concert of music predominantly composed for double choir, from Schutz's Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied and Brahms' Fest und Gedenkspruche, to one of the most iconic unaccompanied double-choir pieces in the chamber repertoire, Frank Martin's Mass for Double Choir.  The programme also includes music by JS Bach, Mendelssohn and Ethel Smyth.  We will be joined by violinist Hannah Groarke-Young and baritone horn player Ciaran Young who will play contrasting and entertaining items.  Conducted by Keith Orrell.
